Welcome to Zootropolis Chronicles, a fan-based play-by-post RPG taking place in the world imagined by the film, Zootopia -created by Disney. In Zootroplolis Chornicles, all characters take the form of Anthropomorphic Animals (walks on two legs) and live their lives in place of humans. In Zootopia, animals wear clothes, they use technology, and they live in harmony with one another.

However, don't let it's peaceful nature catch you off guard. Zootopia is filled with crime, plagued with distress, and is suffering from what could be seen as nothing less than it's own locally hidden power-struggle. As one once said, "we may have evolved, but deep down -we're still animals."

"3-1-9" Saijin said on the radio as she pulled up to the side of the road, the spot light on the side of her car aiming down and to the right along a fence, the beam of light trained on the large hole that was very clear and evident.

"500 to 3-1-9, go 'head." the radio beeped back at her as she pressed the button, waiting for the chime in code.

"3-1-9 to 500, 10-27 at location, found a hole in the-" a noise caught her by surprise before hands were slammed downward on the patrol vehicle door. The sound made her jump and she ound herself dropping the radio and gazing into the eyes of a deranged coyote, his eyes glaring into her own as his claws dug into the door and ripped through the panel.

"3-1-9, code-2?" the radio chimed before the car door was ripped open and a large paw grasped her by the collar of her shirt, forcing her own and onto the pavement. Reaching for the radio mic on her appaulet, she depressed the button. "3-1-9! -Officer in Trou-" she was grasped by the back of her belt and thrown off her belly and into the side of the car as every bone in her back cracked with complaint, taking the wind straight from her lungs before a base ball bat was thrown directly into her gut, causing her to curl forward and drop to her knees.

Reaching down for her pistol, she snapped off the hood, and rolled her thumb over the auto-lock release lever, drawing her Glock before it too was struck with the bat, sending it flying from her grasp before a hand grabbed her by the throat.

"You in the wrong hood, pig..." he said as he began to choke her, before dragging her off into the alley.

"All units, be advised, Code-3 to 3-1-9... All units, page in for responding. Again, all units - Code-3 to 3-1-9..."

She was off duty, she was also technically on meter maid duty for the next two months for the stunt she pulled with that raccoon. It wasnt even her fault, the idiot ran head first into a low hanging beam!

But she had her radio scanner on her, and she was doing her off time PT, jogging, later she would do some push ups and some weight lifting. She was a small fox, she had to work hard to keep up. So when the call came for a 10-13, she turned and booked it.

She rounded the corner in time to see Officer Lupero dragged into a dark alley. She drew her personal firearm, and moved forward. She ducked into the alley, and ran face first into a second coyote who grinned down at her, and sent her sprawling.

"Gonna be a hero? Naw, I dun think so."

And then there was black as a heavy foot came down hard on her head.

Maddie fiddled with her badge as she pulled up to a red light, driving the police cruiser. Today was her first day being the lead on a two person team, and her partner for the day was a new recruit from the force, Ginnie Justin, a Jeroba. The seatbelt to the cruiser was about as wide as Ginnie was tall, so the safety device looked more like a comical tomb. Maddie presumed that Ginnie would have a long and wonderful career ahead of her as an officer in Little Rodentia. The Force felt it was a good idea that all recruits be trained in as many disciplines as possible, as one never knew where support was going to come from. The badge irritated a hotspot underneath her shirt; she'd have to put some cream on it a bit later.

Suddenly, the radio was a bustle of activity.

Hesitantly, Maddie half-heartedly accelerated when the light turned green, knowing full well she may have to turn around immediately. The driver behind her didn't like that, putting his Jaguar hood right up her ass - it was a balsy move. With the light ahead turning yellow, Maddie turned on her flashers, causing the light to turn green, and everyone around her to move aside and give her some space. The brown-nosing fancy-ass Jaguar problem was solved. She went through the light and pulled into a side alley, acting as if she was patrolling when really she just needed some space to collect her thoughts and concentrate on the radio. Perhaps it was an abuse of power to turn on her sirens just to get through the light, but the law had wiggle room.

Ginnie looked up at Maddie. "Clever. Radio's definitely more important than getting into a fender-bender."

Maddie nodded and picked up the radio, waiting for a moment of silence to check in. "Unit 200, 10-9 please.". Every officer had to memorize the 10-codes, but code 10-23 was an advisory for weather conditions. The sky looked pretty clear to her. Was this one of those sudden storms on the horizon? She'd missed the 3-1-9 call over the wail of her sirens and a pothole.

"2-0-0 10-30 on 3-1-9. What's your 20?", the operator asked.

"Antelope and Doxen"

"10-25 Lupero, be advised ...", the operator continued on, giving the cross-street address and instructions to hurry.

Maddie peeled out of the alley, and turned on her sirens. Traffic gave way and the traffic lights endowed her with solid greens, like a video game power up. But she was worried. They slowed as they approached, seeing the spotlight aimed, and the car door open. "2-0-0 10-23", Maddie gulped anxiously.

An ominous feeling prevaded, and Maddie unholstered her stun gun and flashlight. Ginnie had gotten out, too, and was readying her stop-stick, a heavy metal baton. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw something dark, whirled around, and was able to jump back just in time as a baseball bat whooshed past her head. Where had this perpetrator even come from?! She aimed and fired, and the criminal dropped and shook.

To Maddie's right, Ginnie was assailed by a large coyote, and at just the right angle, the coyote's paw exactly crushed Ginnie underneath.

"STOP!", was all Maddie had time to call out. The coyote ducked behind the car, trying to unholster unconscious Ginnie's weapon, but it was tiny compared to his size. He fled, then, just duking past Maddie's second taser shot. The coyote scrambled up a wall, leveraging his claws into pre-made pockmarks in the bricks, like an entertainment climbing wall.

By this time, the first criminal was getting up, the tazer wire dangling along the ground. "DO NOT MOVE!", Maddie shouted at him. He did. She shot him again. She unholstered her cuffs, and while he shook and writhed a second time, she cuffed one paw, put it behind his back, and cuffed the other. She quickly dragged him and more or less shoved him into the back seat, slamming the door and caring little about police brutality. This situation was dangerous.

She grabbed her police radio, her thoughts racing too far to remember any codes. "Officer down officerdown! Justin unconscious! No sign of Lupero, car empty, one assailant in custody, one got away. Send .. send ... send help", she let go of the button, her brain feeling frustrated with this forced new line of thought, the adrenaline making her senses hyper alert and so far away from this meta- work.

She jogged around to the other side of her car, and began attending to officer-in-training Ginnie Justin.

Little did she know that Kammie was also here, somewhere.

Firm hands grasped her by the throat as she looked directly into the dark eyes of the coyote before her, her entire head beginning to feel as though it were inflated as her pulse raced through her neck as and could be felt in her wrists as she tried to free herself, her legs flailing in every which direction instinct told them to go as she tried to cry out before she was thrown to the ground with a crack in her shoulder. She whirled around - trying to reach for her batan with her right hand - bringing her eyes up front and glaring right into the twisted eyes of the snarling coyote, his arms clenching a shotgun before he brought the shoulder stock down right square in her forehead - the sickening crack ringing throughout her ears as spit rang forth between her teeth and her eeys were forced closed as the crack sent her sprawling on her back and cracking her skull on the pavement.

"Put 'em in the truck."

Chief B. Bogo
It was rare that he reported to the scene of a crime, in fact, it was very seldom at all. But the facts were clear and present, and that was the fact that two of his officers had gone off the grid. It wasn't uncommon that his officers placed themselves before danger, but it was indeed a rare incident when they - themselves, became the victims of a crime, and that was exactly what this was.

He pulled up in an unmarked black SUV, red and blues flickering along the road as he came into the area, spotting the cruiser with the overhead lights still flashing and the engine still hot. The driver's side door was still open, and there was a dent in the prisoner transport area as he came to a grinding halt along the pebbled road. His massive stalky form large as the door opened. "500, to central, 23 at 3-19's location." he said over the radio as he pushed open the door with his shoulder and stepped out, observing Maddie retain the single prisoner into the back.

"You check the car yet?" the chief asked as he apporached the abondoned cruiser, pulling the flashlight off his duty belt and took a glance inside, spotting the shotgun that was still afixed to the long-arms rack against the cage. He then checked the area around the vehicle, no shell casings, no spent cartridges. Though, he did find blood on the rocks, and there was indeed signs of a struggle.

"She was ambushed." he said as he pulled out his radio, "500 to central, dispatch CSI to Antelope and Doxen, myself and 200 are on scene, canvasing the scene now, over." he stated as he approached the rear of his truck and pulled out yellow tape, black letters boldly stating CRIME SCENE on the back and front. "Copy that, 500 and 200 on scene, CSI dispatched at zero-zero-twenty-one. CSI code 76 to location at Antelope and Doxen, ETA is set at thirty-two minutes."

"500, copy that, central." Bogo said as he shook his head, "Ezekial isn't going to like this." he said as he pulled out his phone, recalling the fact that the officer that was ambushed and kidnapped was also the daughter of the SWAT team leader.

Maddie's nerves were shot and everything took a hundred times the effort and concentration, and usually second or third tries. Stabilizing Ginnie was difficult as she was so very tiny compared to herself but at last she was satisfied that Ginnie's pulse and breathing were steady, safe.

She'd just gotten up from leaning Ginnie into a comfortable upright position when her prisoner again began to move. "Stop MOVING!", she yelled at him, exasperated at this suspect had gotten up three times now and been tazed twice. Of course, he did. Maddie simply jogged, caught up to him, grabbed his cuffs, and took control, forcing him into the car as he struggled, oddly reminiscent of a child throwing a tantrum who didn't want to leave the candy store. She got him to the bench of her squad car but had trouble getting him in it. "If you don't get in that seat right now this door's going to squash your fingers!", she threatened him. It was enough, and he got in. Maddie shut the door, effectively sealing the prisoner inside.

She was surprised to see a black vehicle had pulled up, and she instinctively reached for her tazer again, until the angle of her view changed enough that she saw the flashing red and blues. An undercover vehicle. She sighed relief and removed her hand, then jumped out of her skin seeing that the officer who had been manning that vehicle was none other than her boss himself. What was he doing out here? He was no field officer.

"Officer Justin was badly hurt, sir, she needs a medic. We were ambushed. I got this one, but a coyote climbed right up the wall like a possessed demon. I've never seen anything like it. ", she reported, pointing as appropriate to the new recruit Jinnie Justin who was leaning against the passenger side of Maddie's squad car, laboring to breathe but stable. She pointed to the side of the building that had pre-made pockmarks in the side of the building, unnoticeable unless one were looking for them.

"Sir, what are you doing here?", she couldn't help herself to not ask the question anymore.

To loose two officers in the line of duty, be it from an ambush or a crime in progress on their own, struck itself as a deep loss for the Chief who could do nothing but stand idle with his metaphorical thumb shoved up his ass. In an instance like this, there was very little he could do to control the situation before him. He turned to Harper, who began to give him the run-down.

"Officer Justin was badly hurt, sir. She needs a medic. We were ambushed, I got this one, but a coyote climbed right up the wall like a possessed demon. I've never seen anything like it." He looked to the computer, noting that there was an alert out for this particular area that there had been recent heavy gang activity here, and that anti-crime had flagged it as Cartel ground.

"Five-hundred." he said over the radio, using his epaulet microphone on his shoulder.

"500, go ahead." Dispatch replied.

"500 to central, 200-2 is down but stable, roll ninety-four to location, will advise, 500-out." Bogo said as he took a look at Officer Justin, "Copy that, 500. 10-6 at Antelope and Doxen, 200-2 down but stable, rolling ninety-four to your 20, zero-zero-twenty-six." Bogo looked to Harper.

He then pulled out his flashlight, looking at the wall, noting the pockmarks that lined the surface of the concrete. "This wasn't a spur-of-the-moment thing... this was planned." Bogo stated as he placed his hand on the wall, touching it as he noted the drill marks that lined the surface. "This entire thing was a set-up." he turned to Harper, who then asked - "Sir, what are you doing here?"

"I'm the damn supervisor, Harper. Contrary to whatever police drama you be watching on tv, I actually get out of my chair and work, that's especially true when two of my officer's get ambushed!" he snarled as he looked downwards, noting the blood trail. He flicked his finger, pointing to the ground at their feet, noting the specs of blood.

He lowered his hand to his firearm, rolling down the hood of the holster and sliding the lock rearward to release the firearm, drawing it with a single motion until it cleared the hard leather-covered plastic, the Glock 22 came forward, returning the flashlight to it's holder on his duty belt, he then engaged the gun-mounted light on his pistol, following the trail of broken bushes, noting the various boot prints that were on the ground, before a shallow single impression on the ground extended all the way down-hill and into the desert.

He took a knee, examining the marks, "They were dragged from here." he pointed out, noting how the boot prints ended where they stood. He stood, continuing to follow the trail, before at last - coming upon tire marks. "And put into a vehicle here..." he said, as he studied the treads, "A truck..." he turned to Harper.

"When you were 23 at this scene, did you see any vehicles leaving the area?" he asked as he turned to face her -re-holstering his weapon. "Central to 500, ninety-four -seventy-six to your twenty, ETA 13 minutes." The radio returned as Bogo listened to the chatter, "500 to central, ten-four." he said as he stood, now wanting more than anything to have a chat with this coyote that was in the back seat of her car.

For the last few months, Ezekial had been at the SWAT training academy, training a fresh wave of SWAT Officers for Zootopia's various precincts. His class was at the range with the assistant instructors while Ezekial was sitting feet up at his desk grading a few study assignments from his class, when his phone rang. Less than two minutes later, Ezekial had put in a formal notice to his assistants and was roaring down the highway back to Zootopia in his car.

Ezekial was using every bit of his self-restraint not to ram drivers out of his way just to get to the crime scene faster. Ezekial would have a stethoscope to the ground in pure attempt to listen for a location for whoever took Saijin, and when he found who took her, they were gonna wish they were in Guantanamo by the time Ezekial was done with them.

Maddie stared at Chief Bogo as if he were the posessed demon. This whole thing was so far out of their textbooks that she'd might as well been a trained scuba-diver being shoved off a plane at free-fall and expected to know what to do. Given his constipated attitude, she bit her tongue to prevent a new slurry of questions and tried to observe the scene as he did, but not seeing anything helpful other than what she already knew.

She watched Bogo slink around as if he weighed half of what he did, examining the leaves and bushes like a pointy-eared antelope elven ranger scout. Surprisingly, he drew a conclusion.

Maddie gulped and thought hard. "No, sir."

Ezekial's personal vehicle approached. Maddie's hand went instinctively towards her gun until she could spot who it was, then relaxed.

@Maddie Harper
@Ezekial

He lowered his radio as he trained his eyes on the field before him, the darkness of the night sheltering the voice that long cried out for a story to be told. Why were his officer's taken? What was the purpose, and what did they possibly gain from it? His eyes firm and unyielding, he could only guess that it was retaliation for the shooting that was cleared two weeks ago. Ironically enough, both officers had been involved.

His radio was then returned to the holster on his pouch below his kidney on his duty belt, turning to face the Red Panda that stood before him. The blankness in her expression and a sincere unsureness as what to do next caught his attention, as did a pair of red and blue flashing lights coming up the road. No doubt it was EMT's arriving on the location to pick up Justin who had been harmed.

"No, Sir." her voice came upon him in direct waves as he exhaled, bringing up his radio once more. "500 to Central." he called out, releasing the button, until there was a beep on the speaker, "Central, go 'head." the female dispatcher stated. "Is 3-1-9's radio still operational?" he asked as he moved the radio away from his ear. There was a pause, before the click of the radio sounded throughout the wide open space, "Central to 500, 3-1-9's radio is still on the net, will advise." the dispatcher said, there was a click.

"500, ping it." he ordered, before turning his eyes to the sound of grinding tires. He recognized the car to be an unmarked Charger with concealed red-and-blues in the sun shades and grille. No doubt it was Ezekial.

"Should've known that you would've dropped everything and made your way over here." Bogo said as he approached the wolf, "Dispatch is going to ping her radio, the on the telephone lines should be able to pick up the signal and tell us where she is." he said as he indicated the telephone poles that lined the canyon.

"She's tough, I'm sure she'll be fine." he said as he looked to Harper, noting the passenger in her back seat. "I'll be taking custody of your Prisoner, Harper. Secure your partner's equipment and roll with '94 to the hospital, I'll be there shortly to collect your statement." he stated as he approached her vehicle, opening the door with a creek.

He then gave a hint of warning, "No one's rolling cameras, right?" he asked as he glanced over his shoulder, turning off his own body camera by holding down the power button for a few seconds, where the light then disapeared.

The coyote looked up at him with a sneer, but he said not a word. This wasn't a random crime, this wasn't a spur of the moment opportunity. This was a planned attack, this was direct retribution, one in which two of his female officers were to become the victim. The legal process of uncovering information would simply take too long, and they had 42 hours to come up with a location. Beyond that, they were no longer looking for a person, they were looking for a body.

When all the cameras were no longer rolling, Bogo grabbed the prisoner out of the car and forced him on his feet. The areas of his back where the tazer darts had embedded in his flesh still bleeding slightly as he pulled out his baton with a snap, all 26 inches of alluminum extending with a metallic snap that caused the coyote to flinch and turn away.

"Where's my officer's?" his voice was dark and perpetrating, his tone was one of sencerity as he looked down at the small canine. "Not tellin' you shit, pig!" the coyote flicked his ear in annoyance. "You're better off dealing with me than you are with him." he indicated Ezekial with a thrust of his hoofed hand, "Now, I'm going to ask you one more time," he paused as he got down knee-level with the young canine, his shirt ragged and torn, his eyes half squinted under the flashing of over-heads and lights.

"Where's Saijin Lupero, and Kamie Corsolo?" he waited for the coyote to answer.
