Forum Rules Zootopia's Criminal Underground - Gripped in Fear

Tundra Town is an isolated district at the Northern spaces of Zootopia, here the artificial climate is frigid and dense. Due to it's massive grounds, there is a diverse population thriving throughout the area.

Flanked By Sahara Square, Tundra Town is circumnavigated by the Zootopia Express Train that cuts through the center of the district. With evens procuring at all hours of the day, Zootopia police have a heavy presence in the area, especially due to the fact that the Tundra Town can be considered to be the entrails of Zootopia's criminal underground.

Thriving heavily in the area and influencing nearly every decision in Tundra Town is the headquarters to what is presumed to be Zootopia's largest crime Lord, The Bigs. They are known to quarrel often with the Gulos, another major crime family that has massive influence throughout Zootopia.

One should take caution when navigating these parts of the city as the presence of both crime families are strong and can be felt by everyone. As both families virtually own nearly all the business in the district, it would seem that in every aspect, they are supporting the operation behind each dollar that is spent here.

Her paws hands rested against her knees as she sat there before the two doctors, her teeth mashing against one another as their words went through one ear and out the other. Her cheeks hot red with anger as she lowered her ears in anger. All she could hear was the ringing of her ears as she tried to zone them out, closing her eyes briefly as she tried to hold her breath, tried to depart herself from this room... she could hear more, she could hear the sound of a scratching pen, she could feel their own heart beats as they took their notes, she became more aware of the world around her.

They spoke to her but she did not hear their words as she only zoned them out completely. Words flashed before her, "exhibits social isolation", "unwilling to communicate about issues," "Uncooperative with therapy", "recommend long-term hospitalization and treatment"

She looked up in time to observe the too psychologists as they continued to take their notes, how they continued to watch her and observe her like she were some kind of experiment in a cage. "I'm going to recommend institutionalized care." Her ears shot up in surprise, her paws turned to fists with nails that dug into her palms, it took every effort to not explode as her hands trembled with frustration. Her heart boomed like that of thunder and her blood boiled within her.

"I don't want to..." she said very slowly, trying to appear calm, trying to make it appear as though she wasn't about to explode any moment.

"I just want people to leave me alone... I don't want to talk about it anymore." she added as she tried to whip the sweat off her palms, the stiffness of her tail almost becoming painful as her ears lowered in abrupt frustration.

"Your recent drug test shows a very high amount of THC, Kaiyou. You've also been drinking? You're sexually active? What other indications can there be? You need help. This isn't the normal behavior for someone your age." The therapist stated as she lowered her pen.

"So your answer is to throw me in an institution and forget about me?!" she cried out, her fangs flashed over her lips, "I get it, I'm fucked up. I got raped by my uncle and my step-father couldn't keep his hands to himself." she declared.

"But you will not take me away from my friends, you will not take me away from my family, and you will not throw me in an institution and feed me pills every waking hour of the day!" she looked at each and every one of them, her hands balled into fists, her chest rising and falling with rapid succession as her tail stood stiff, her legs trembling as she stared each and every one of them down.

"Have you... by chance tried to communicate your issues with anyone you know? Kaiyou? A friend? Have you talked about your experience with someone you trust?" the therapist leaned forward after jotting down notes about Kaiyou's outburst. "-other than law enforcement?"

Kaiyou looked down at the ground, relaxing a little, pondering on the answer and looking out to the window as the sun beaned inward from the glass that stood at the end of the room. A single tear ran from her cheek as she tried to figure everything out for herself.

Kaiyou came through the door moments later, walking down the hall without saying a word and made her way to the lobby. She found Matty and Diane waiting there for her, there was a smile upon her as she approached. "We're done." Kaiyou said with a grin that was half-real and perhaps more pretend. Her left hand twitching in agitation and frustration with these old hags that had nothing better to do then get their referral bonuses from medications, specialist, and of course - long term hospitalized care wards... mental hospitals.

The idea of being admitted to one seemed kind of ironic, but she would never willingly allow them to admit her to one. They'd have to drug her first, and then they'd have to restrain her every night and prey that she wasn't coherent enough to break loose and spring the lock on her confines.

She had rejected the recommendation, an envelope of her recommendations were outlined on the long piece of paper. A highlighted section in synopsis stated "Uncooperative with Therapy, recommend long term hospitalization for evaluation". She approached Matt, before taking a seat next to him.

The therapist that she had just been speaking too came out the very same door, looking at Diane, she motioned for her to approach, leaving the two be as Kaiyou kicked outward with her legs. All the weed she had been smoking was beginning to make her loose some weight, she noticed this with the frailness of her forearms and the thinning out of her legs.

She looked up and faced the door, taking in muffled parts of their conversation beyond the half-open door. Making out words "She's not cooperating with her therapy," - "she's beginning to show severe aggression." And finally, "If she doesn't begin to improve, we may need to place her in a hospitalized environment."

Ohhhh hell no... - Kaiyou wanted to punch the wall already as she heard them talk about it, No mental hospitals for Kaiyou." she shook her head, very much wanting to smoke a cigarette.

"I just want to go already..." she said as she looked at Matt, "But all they want to do is invade me on everything that I do..." she sighed as she leaned back in the chair until it creaked, waiting for Diane to be released by the therapist so they could finally leave this dreadful place.

Matthew wasn't really sure what to do. The majority of all this was out of his hands, he was only an onlooker, and at most he was emotional support for Kaiyou. He supported his friend, but at the same time held some faith in the science of psychology. He feared that Kiayou'd be put in an institution. No good stories came to his mind about those places, only horrible ones and horror TV shows and games. The lab reached out and grasped Kaiyou's hand in his own before looking her in the eyes. "I don't think my mom would let them take you." He assured her, knowing that he was most likely right. He rubbed the back of her hand with his thumb and smiled at the girl, trying to calm her nerves. "We'll go home soon, eat some good food, then I'll finish up my recordings, and after that you and I can hang out and do whatever you want." He offered to the Akita, hoping that the day would permit such things. The day, however was already bad, and he had no control over what would happen in the time to come, he only hoped things would be good, especially for Kaiyou's sake.

She listened to them, every word the passed to her like papers and protocol. They seemed to not be personally invested in Kaiyou, and that irked the motherly lab. Diane's words came in the form of quick, protective bites of spite. Questions like "Have you had children before?" and "Do you know what it's like to actually care for a child?" Those were implications that while the therapist may have a degree proudly displayed, she probably didn't have a lick of experience as a mother.

She carried vitriol in her tone as she replied to the therapist. "Kaiyou had something terrible happen to her, and you suggest that she be removed from my care?" Diane asked. "That'd be taking her out of likely the only environment she's felt safe in for a very long time. I won't let you punish her for being hurt, she'll speak when she damn well feels like it." The lab shook her head and quickly adjusted her purse straps to leave. She took a deep breath, and let it out in a sigh before speaking again. This time her voice was softer. "While I do hear what you have to say, I refuse to have her put in psychiatric care. I've been a part of her life since she met my son, I aim to help her." She laid down her stance and was about to leave the room.

Diane paused for a moment, her hand on the door handle. "There is something that you should take into account; she's a teenager. Of course she's going to do things like drinking and smoking, and yes, even fucking." Diane turned her head to look at the therapist one last time. "I did it young, I'm sure my Matthew's done it, and hey, if it turns out that they're doing it, and doing it responsibly, I don't really mind." She finished with a little, rebellious smirk. "You have a good day now, eh?" With that well wishing, she turned the handle and stepping out of the office.

"So!" Diane declared to her pups. "Should we hit up a drive-thru on the way home, or do I have to slave over a hot stove for you two?" She asked.

In all truth, Kaiyou didn't believe that she needed these sessions. The sessions themselves were perhaps more painful than the actual event that had happened to her. It was enough that she had to acknowledge every week what it was that happened to her, but it was also even more difficult to know that she had to relive the events over and over again.

It had become speculation once or twice that they were making her re-tell the story as to what happened as if they were searching for any uncertainties or perhaps, mis-matched in her previous ones. It was true that she had to relive the nightmare six times since she had been ordered to attend therapy as a condition for her to meet qualification to gain citizenship, and it was true that she was fulfilling her agreement, but at the cost of a little piece of herself every time.

All she had wanted to do was simply move on. - To cast the side of her that had been damaged during the events that took place that one night and forget it ever happened. She knew that she would never be the same, she knew that she would have to live with this new part of herself for as long as she continued to live, and she knew more than well enough that she would eventually have to face herself one more time, face everyone - and relive that dreadful nightmare one last time. -To tell the one that she trusted the most, as to what had happened.

She knew that he didn't know the full extent as to what had happened, she knew for sure that he didn't know for how long. Only one other knew the story, and not even she knew that he knew, but he also had been keeping it between himself.

There were many unshed tears that longed to fall, many things that she knew that she would have to condone for, to accept, and to adapt to. She knew that she was a heavy marijuana smoker and that she needed to slow down or eat more.

But the fear of being forced into custody and taken into an institution for long term focused treatment? - It was enough to drive her nerves in with a sludge hammer, it was enough to crack the very foundation that which she now found herself standing upon, it was enough to make her run.

Beyond the door that was supposed to be sound-proof as to preserve patient-caregiver privacy, Kaiyou still managed to pick up the argument that ensued between who was now supposed to be her new mother and the therapist that had told her that she was going to write the recommendation which was then going to go to the court and be attached as part of her case file. She lowered her ears, her eyes shifting downwards as she focused her ears on the clicking of a keyboard on the other side of the room as the receptionist continued to type up a document.

As she was lost in her train of thought, a firm pawed hand fell over her own, taking hers into his own, she looked up and found Matt holding it, as though to provide support. She felt warm again and she looked at him in the eyes, lost as to what to say - even more-so, what to do.

"I don't think my mom would let them take you." his smile was re-assuring as she listened to him, taking in his words as she gave a slight grin, but said nothing in return. "We'll go home soon, eat some good food, then I'll finish up my recordings, and after that you and I can hang out and do whatever you want." she liked the sound of that. But ideally, she had something a bit larger in mind.

"That..." she paused, swallowing the hesitation within her nerves as she placed her other pawed hand over his own, "That's sounds fun." she said as she looked at him, a deep nature within her desiring him.

"So!" the door opened, and Kaiyou found herself retracting her hands and placing them in her lap promptly, "Should we hit up a drive-thru on the way home, or do I have to slave over a hot stove for you two?" she asked. Kaiyou glanced at Matt, knowing full well that she could definitely eat a burger... or two.

"A double alligator steak burger loaded with cheese and bacon sounds amazing right now..." no doubt the smorgasbord of a burger was to appease her frustrations with the pyschologist.

"Fast food it is!" Diane declared. "Make that two, and whatever Matty wants." She gave a sure nod as she took her two teens to the parking lot. The old crones knew nothing. TLC was all Kaiyou needed, though not just a little. That girl needed a lot, a whole freighter ship full, a family's love. Diane was willing to give that, she wouldn't' have opened her home up if she didn't. She only hoped that what she had could help. The mother lab took the lead, purse firmly held, steps confident, and car keys grasped tightly in her hand.

Meanwhile Matthew wasn't quite sure what to do or say. It was a precarious situation; unsure of what to say, too shy to speak up, and the fear that he may say something to put Kaiyou into even more of a foul mood than what she already was. He could feel the tension coming off both the females, and it just made him all the more scared to speak. Say the wrong thing and BOOM, his head could be chewed off; metaphorically and literally. Instead of words however, Matt reached out and grasped Kaiyou's hand in his own, holding it tenderly. They were behind his mother, she couldn't see it. He looked to the other teen and smiled; it was warm and kind, though it was obvious he was a little tense as well. "I bet we could get ice cream too." He said softly before leaning in and planting a small kiss on the akita's cheek. "My treat." He winked before retracting back to a normal posture to avoid any suspicion on his mother's part. He still held onto her hand though. "Ice cream too?" Matt asked, voice raised slightly so his mother could hear.

Diane was still miffed at the psychologist, but her angry steps were cathartic and by the time they reached her SUV, she was feeling a lot better. Her ears perked and rotated around to pick up what her son was saying better. Ice cream? Sure! They could have gallons of it, each of them for all she cared right now. She could afford to splurge, and with how her emotions were running, she'd probably do well with a tub of it herself. "Of course." Diane replied, unlocking the vehicle for her teens to climb in. "Triple scoops, any toppings." She flashed a smile to the two of them, before hopping in herself. Once everyone was buckled up and safe, she stared up the grocery-getter, and made a beeline for the closest fast food place.
